IMAGINARY MOVIE POSTERS at Bon Collage
Kottishop Gallery, Berlin 2018

You can look at art through the eyes of a filmmaker; and you can look at film through the lens of art history. In my exhibition Bon Collage I presented digital collages where I reimagined classic paintings as movies and made the movie posters to promote them.

INSTALLATION ART

Airing the (dirty) Laundry’ PSVI Film Festival.

An installation for the festival which called attention to the problem of serial violence in conflict zones. The room sized installation featured “laundry” that symbolised the shame survivors feel and the festivals mission to destigmatise and support survivors. The work was developed with Anna Chiarini and based on our previewing the many excellent films in the festival programme. We used film quotes and some our reconfigured items were donated by SA survivors. Article about the festival and art work.

Commissioned by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office / presented at BFI Southbank 2018

Installation view, foyer of BFI Southbank
part of the installation included ‘laundry’ bearing tags that exhorted the visitors to take action or think about what they were looking at.

some of the reconfigured pieces (remodelled by fashion designer Ieva Stakaite) were donated by survivors of sexual violence
lines of ‘laundry’ hung across the high vertical spaces throughout the BFI foyer- some easily accessible to view close up, others large and seen from below.
